Velasmooth Body Treatment
The Velasmooth device is an FDA-approved anti-cellulite and firming treatment. FDA stands for Food and Drug Administration: the government agency that regulates the spread and use of drugs and medical devices in the United States.
How does Velasmooth work?
The treatment designed specifically for the beauty industry and it is a machine that combines three different technologies:
- Bi-polar radio frequency
- Infrared light
- Vacuum technology
Radio frequency is a technique applied in Aesthetic Medicine that uses the energy of electromagnetic waves in order to heat up certain areas of the body, helping intracellular diffusion. Radio frequency can penetrate quite deep into the fat tissue, in fact the heat reaches a depth of 5-15 mm.
Infrared light, on the other hand, provides a beneficial vasodilation thanks to the rise in temperature activated within the tissues. Its therapeutic effect is based on improving the local blood flow. This helps with skin tightening, improving oxygen flow and eliminating metabolic waste.
Lastly, vacuum technology and massage rollers apply negative pressure (vacuum suction) through a mechanical massage, smoothing the skin and therefore activating lymphatic drainage. This is also possible thanks to self-cleaning rotating electrodes that ensure perfect contact with the skin and an effective emission of energy.
Expected results with Velasmooth
Thanks to the three technologies used, the overall result of Velasmooth consists in an increase of adipose cell activity and lymphatic drainage, which help shrink fat.
Usually, it is recommended to target different areas (thighs, abdomen, etc…) separately, starting on one area, reaching the desired results, and then moving on to the next.
Procedure and Duration
A session of Velasmooth is usually between 40 and 60 minutes, depending on the targeted area. The treatment always starts with lymphatic drainage, which is done with the vacuum in order to open the lymphatic vessels and later allow the release of fat, melted by infrared light and radio frequency.
Indications and Contraindications
Velasmooth is indicated for patients who have fat deposits or loose skin because radio frequency can tighten tissues, resulting in a firmer and more toned skin.
Velasmooth is contraindicated for pregnant women, patients with neoplasia or that are taking antibiotics because it could cause dark spots.
